56% Pinot Noir 44% Zinfandel, pleasantly off-dry — 7 years ago
Beautifully clear gold color. On the nose delightful lemon aromas. Early on thought acidity was low but as it aired lovely acidity developed as did the grape flavors. Very fine wine from south of San Francisco. I have to agree Rosemary’s challenges the California Chardonnay top tier. A very delightful and delicious wine. — 3 years ago
Made from grapes grown by a grower “down the road.” There's a nice tropical nose with fabulous salinity, and similar notes for the palate. Great acidity. It should have been a great pair with the San Diego halibut, but oddly, it was not. It wasn't a bad match, though. — 6 years ago
sweet, literally passion fruit, doesn't take like wine at all, perfect — 7 years ago
It's time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious Cabernet Franc.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish /brick rim. Wonderful color.
Nice nose of blueberries, black currants, vanilla, cedar, bell pepper, spices, tobacco, coffee, chocolates, vegetables, herbs and black pepper.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, spices, vegetables, bell pepper, licorice, dark chocolates, black coffee, light celery and peppercorn.
Long tangy finish with soft tannins and raspberries.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Franc from San Diego County. What a great surprise. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel with nice balance.
Tasty and enjoyable by itself as a sipping wine.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and remove the acidity.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
Aged in French oak barrels for 27 months. A small production of only 72 cases.
Tasty and delicious.
13.4% alcohol by volume. Yay. Nice to see that from California.
92 points.

Great dark fruit. Black cherry, black currents, spice and just the right amount of alcohol brilliantly bold with slight acid — 7 years ago

I didn’t know what to expect from a San Diego County Riesling but this was very good. Well balanced with notes of melon and lemon. — 18 days ago
