Llanos Negros

Singularis Gual Sabro 2016

As far as rarity goes this is it. An oxidative character with lots of minerality, conplexity and length. Ability to age, not for the fruit driven crowd, that for sure as there are 600 bottle or so — 24 days ago

Venus La Universal

Dido la Universal Montsant Garnacha Blend 2018

Sitting down to finally enjoy a glass of wine of my choosing at home.

The folks at some good wine recommended this blend, which I’ve decanted for just a mere 10-15 minutes and will drink over the course of two hours of decanting.

Musky soil and redwoods. Raspberry tart in the aroma. Cinnamon in the bouquet and tertiary aromas.

Wow. What a beaut. Cool sip of wind zipping straight straight to acidity and tannins in a dance on the tongue. Fruit of blackberry and plums rushes the mid palate and a slight astringent note of blackberries in the undercurrent notes, but welcome in the harmony that is a sip of this.

Good cinnamon spice kick as well.

Exceptional welcome back.

Muchada Léclapart

Univers Palomino 2017

Blew off its initial funk...two hours of air. Skin contact palomino fino from cult champagne producer David Léclapart & Alejandro Muchada. Palate is so creamy & lush, saline, lime, acidic apple varieties, dry honey, a manzanilla from another planet. Like a manzanilla refracted through a champagne lens. Really cool stuff. — 17 days ago

Ron Miel Cocal Honey Rum 1948

Un chupito de ron y todo se vaya bien....
A speciality of the Canarias, you can feel the rhum and the sweetness of the honey, and it's not too sugary.

Macerado Edicion Limitada Rioja Viura 2018

100% Viura, 6 months skin contact.

Absolutely LOVE this wine!!
Viura fans only please, find it, drink it, love it, buy a lil more & stash it. Waxed. Specialz.

If I had another bottled, and chilled.... it would be a special night.

For me, this wine is possibly equated to a Burg-hounds iodine marinated fossilized crustacean shell infused Kimmeridgian fruit forward Chablis (love my Burgundy Blanc’s too)... or something.

More Vintages, Please!

Paired with hickory smoked Salmon.

Note-wise, Ill say it has great fruit, golden, iron-like note, along with a ?peppercorn skin essence? (Essence mixed peppercorn, olfactory, not bitten into), hint of apricot... texture changes with temp (more tannic and rough when cold, smooth round fruit when warmer). Pure enjoyment. Possible almond shell note with age.

Does not state exactly, the length of skin contact. Harvest - bottling on. March 2, 2019. Approx 5-6months (Sept-March). 13% ABV

@Rhonely Boy I’ve gotta hunt this down. Sounds awesome.

I love the varietal Viura/Macabeo, most perceive it as nuetral, and have to admit that its not the most upfront showy varietal. Its a varietal that lights up my sensors though.

Its a fantastic varietal example.

Viura resists oxidation, and can age. Fruity and wonderful now, skin contact adds complexity and tannin. Excited to see how this ages, as I picked up a few extra bottles.

Oriol Artigas

La Rumbera Pansa Blanca-Garnatxa Blanca Blend

This is the first Oriol Artigas wine that I have tried and it did not disappoint. Great notes of salt, papaya, and yeasty funkiness! Had with seafood and was delicious. Looking forward to trying more Artigas wine! — 2 hours ago
