A dark purple garnet with a dark cherry spearmint, cedar and vanilla nose—lingering notes of blackberry, graphite and wet forest floor. Taste - rich, velvety, opulent feel giving it a nice layered structure. Dark cherry-tart fruit hits the pallet with smokey pepper spices and a mocha blueberry vanilla long finish. A winner! Will definitely enjoy this Friday evening as it opens up. — 4 days ago
Magnum, Easter Party wine...Fabulous after brief “airing” the aromatic profile once mentioned to be one of the “profound in memory” for at least one Party member! Great To-Kalon performance here, Awesome Wine! @Mike Smith makes great wine! Kudos Sir! Cheers 🍇🍷👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 — 8 days ago
Nose has ripe blackberry, medium roast coffee grounds, tannic black cherry, crushed milk chocolate, sliced red pepper, tanned black leather and ripe plum skin.
Palate has ripe blackberry, plum, milk chocolate chips, mild new oak, black currant and red clay pottery. Mild tannins are becoming integrated. Decanted 6H.
We enjoyed this bottle with mesquite smoked chuck steaks from a local farmer (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY), cooked slow and low. Manage your temperature and you'll never be disappointed, on the grill for almost 25+minutes, but beautifully medium-rare.
FAW is a staple producer in our cellar, but generally I do not touch anything until at least a 10-12Y birthday. A one off bottle purchase from Costco ($40) so that I can check in on bottles we're waiting on.
75.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16.2% Merlot, 4.0% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc.

FYI, new-ish trending algorithm on Delectable only pushes wines to the feed which can be purchased through Delectable/Banquet. Kind of a 'fake news' feed of the actual popularity on wines in the platform, but what do I know?! I figured since this bottle 'trended' with no likes as of this commentary, I'd let everyone know. I generally don't drink wines that are available via Banquet registered purveyors, since most of our wines are unique or older. Same with 'Tasting Notes: Weeky Roundup' so be aware. Enjoy this tidbit of knowledge, community. 🤗 My soapbox. — 3 days ago
Lot to ingest on that label. Smells of weathered wood in the sun and sweat? Or maybe hot sandstone in the rain? Streak of smashed berries and cherries too. Flavor is pure Cab. Leather, wood, brooding fruit, tomato leaves, and cassis. This is lovely stuff. Makes the grade and then some. — 13 days ago
Hello spring 👋🌷 Loving the beautiful sunshine 🌞 and mild temps here in the Twin Cities today.
Just wrapped up a tasting with friends that included a study of Orin Swift wines, including this heavyweight Pinot Noir from California.
👁 It is solidly medium ruby with “demonic” tearing. @win_drinks_wine
👃 On the nose this wine has medium(+) intensity in youthful aromas. Aromas include notes of candied cherry, kirsch, raspberry preserves, cranberry, strawberry rhubarb, also violet, licorice, mushroom, forest floor, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, cedar, and dark chocolate.
👄 On the palate this wine is dry, it has medium(+) acidity, a medium(+) body, HIGH alcohol, medium tannins, and medium(+) intensity in flavors consistent with the nose. The finish lingers.
Woah, this is unexpectedly heavy and intense for a Pinot Noir, but I have to say it’s pretty darn delicious.

13’ Herman Story Nuts & Bolts Syrah. Pull the cork & let open up in your glass.
💯 Syrah. Popping purple color. Nose is not as appealing as the palate. Very approachable immediately & lighter in body than I expected. Don’t let that fool you though.
Boysenberry, raspberry, dark fruit liqueur, roasted coffee. Seamless cherry cola spice on the finish. What’s not to like. — 5 days ago
Wow, a Fav! Had about a year ago, tried again, aged well. Blend of Petite Sirah, Syrah & Grenache, aged for 10 months on French oak (40% new). Deep Ruby with aromas of black fruits & sweet spice. On the palate, ripe blueberries, plum & sweet cherry with oak & vanilla spice, Lingering finish, good length, tannins are soft, softer than year ago. Good structure, ending with fruit character & mineral tones, drinks well, better to decant. Produced with 12 different labels. Nice! — 11 days ago
