In San Francisco at Mourad — Moroccan food restaurant in the Michelin Star guide. Enjoying a 14 Redoma Douro Neipoort red blend wine from Portugal, 2014. Nice dark purple red color with a blackberry vanilla nose. Pops with a cherry fruit taste with a vanilla gravel spice finish. Tannins are medium and have a nice kick at the end. — 2 years ago

Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!
What a treat this will be in 10yrs! Very youthful right now. I don’t know how the grapes are used here, but it was reminiscent of whole cluster Pinot. Similarities to the Antica Terra Angelical wine but more spice and denser core. Lifted and energetic profile. Smoked and slightly bloodied with iron and smoky beef jerky. The finish showed tart mulberries and baked black cherries. Oak wasn’t very noticeable. Hold. — 2 years ago
Great wine for the price, selected by people who know what they are doing (ie not me). Not as structured as Rioja but still a lot of complexity for its age.Tempranillo from just outside of Madrid. Restaurant hierbabeuna on a hillside overlooking Toledo......beats working — 2 years ago

First red after lockdown in a greek restaurant with the boys. When opened up there is no smell when sniffed. Overall not very complex and not much fruit. Maybe overshadowed by the graveyard 2000. — 5 months ago
