Wow! My cellar aging project scores another ‘discovery’ win. At almost 10 years from harvest, this Nate Walsh built beauty was doing what aged Nebbiolo is supposed to do! Using Horton fruit (Orange, Va), this bottle has metamorphosed into a seductive herbal-rose tea. It’s acidity is almost non-detectable, yet it was the perfect pairing for Tuscan-sausages & peppers w/creamy mash. The flavors of this Nebbiolo are so alive that they danced effortlessly with the sautéed peppers and complimented the herbs in the locally made Tuscans. Just wow…1 ‘12 remains plus 2 ‘10’s. — 2 years ago
Great find at Sam’s club. Medium flavored, a great bottle of wine to unwind to. — 3 years ago
“Rain drops, drop top…” this bottle of the 2004 Paul Bara “Special Club” was popped and poured and enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The color is a light gold with a significant and persistent mousse. Developing, the nose is redolent of fresh, ripe raspberries, strawberries, peaches, apples, lemons, brioche, and marzipan. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acidity. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, rich and delicious and there’s an almost oily texture. I thought this was outstanding on its own and worked very well with both the chicken and duck dish at the table. While this is singing right now, I have little doubt this will continue to age with grace for another 10+ years. A decadent champagne that’s definitely, ahem, “bad and Bouzy”. — 4 months ago

Hard to say no to a Tresors bottle I have never tasted! Killer — 2 years ago
Exquisite and delicious!!
Beautifully balanced between fresh, vibrant apple, lemon peel notes and brioche, biscuit, toasted almond, and pastry notes, with some delicate bruised pear characteristics revealing a bit of bottle age.
Mousse is fine-grained, persistent, and well-integrated. So good! — 5 months ago
Stunning bottle! Far less dark and brooding than 2006, the uber rare 2000 Montepulciano is elegant, seamless and impeccably detailed. It’s layered with crazy depth of aromatics that soar flaunting BBQ spice, espresso, dried flowers and red fruit. It has off the charts complexity and a wild untamed nature to its expression that is as intriguing as it comes. The palate is precise, pure and balanced with a stunningly elegant texture and incredible length. Masterful wine. — 2 years ago

Happy Birthday Christina. 🎂 🎉 🥳
I have been holding this bottle for her birthday for about 5 years since we had this vintage last. Worth the wait. So much more complex now.
The fruits are more subtle and the toasted mixed nut buffet has taken hold. Butterscotch hard candy. Round, creamy, subdued lemon & pineapple juice, hints of lime on the long set, Bosc pear, white peach, whipped cream, brioche, some bread dough, some of the most beautiful yeastiness, what amazing, soft chalkiness, sea spray, undertones of white spice, crushed/powdery limestone, fresh, blooming Spring flowers & yellow lilies, excellent, perfect, crisp acidity, layers and layers on the well; knitted, balanced, structured, brilliantly polished, elegant finish that lasts minutes.
I’ve had some nice champagne lately and this beats everything except 02 & 96 Krug. — 2 months ago
