Symphony “A GARNACHA ROJA × MUSCAT OF ALEXANDRIA cross bred by Harold P Olmo in 1940 at the University of California at Davis and released in 1983 (Walker 2000).”
My first introduction to Symphony was at Scott Harvey in Plymouth, CA. Jana Wines series “One Last Kiss” white blend (Chardonnay, Mendocino Riesling, Symphony, New York Cayuga). Floral & off-dry, Delicious blend, repeat purchase at the winery.
My next introduction at Michael David in Lodi.
“ These estate grown grapes are some of the first plantings of its varietal in the state.” Floral & Fruity, Lodi fruit, 11% ABV, Love the Muscat qualities, repeat purchase at the winery.
Now, Maple Creek Winery - Artevino - Estate Symphony. Its nice to see Symphony from a cooler climate. White floral, grapefruit & lemon, zippy acidity. Nice seafood wine. 13.4% ABV, would be interested in a sparkling version. Textbook wine, pull up the Symphony page on wine-searcher.com :)

Looks like the Warriors are going down 3-1. Shame on us for celebrating with Champange early.
At least we are on to the gold standard of Bandol Rosé. Cheers to Durant playing the rest of the series.
2016 is offering so much more with two plus years in bottle. — 5 years ago
The wine we opened last night was the 2020 Alexana Terroir Series Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. This is from Newberg, Oregon.
On the nose there are notes of cherry, raspberry, spice, clove, mushroom, vanilla, smokey oak and dry soil.
On the palate there are red fruits, cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, clove, mushroom, cinnamon, baking spice and forest floor.
This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth plush mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that leaves us with a medium+ to long red fruit earthy mushroom finish. This being a short week we are already facing a new weekend in front of us. Fall seems to be pushing forward and the mornings are already cooler. Have a great weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 years ago
Smells very deep and rich, fruity, (at first I thought grape syrup). Tastes quite sweet, interesting flavors with a zing at the end. Aftertaste has a 回甘 sort of sweetness. Had with Sous vide rosemary-thyme short ribs and potato-kale mash. Got for 25$ at Costco (on sale) because the guy in front of us at checkout was buying a whole case. we figured he must know what’s up, so c ran to grab a bottle. — 4 years ago
Beautiful sparkler from one of the best in the US. Bottle fermented and aged on the yeast for 10 years! 2009 was a warm growing season in Oregon, and the fruit for this vintage was harvested in 6 days! This is a creamy textured sparkler with hints of roasted hazelnut, quince/pear, and brioche. Beautifully long finish. 59% Pinot and 42% Chardonnay. 80% from Knudsen Vineyard and 20% from Lone Star Vineyard. Only 1,500 cases produced. It’s one of the best spelling wines I’ve had from Argyle. Get it while (and if) you can! — 4 years ago
Majestic this is the way to buy N Z Sauvignon like clean skins in Oz this is from Nelson and it’s amazing and a bargain hope they have it on offer again! — 6 years ago
Tonight I have opened the 2017 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Margaret River, Australia. A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec.
The nose is very expressive with notes of black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, green bell pepper, black pepper, spice and chocolate.
On the palate are beautiful notes of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, green bell pepper, baking spice, vanilla, violets, cedar and graphite.
This wine is full bodied with lots of energy, powerful with loads of complexity which also has medium + to high acidity and medium+ fully round fine tannins that leaves us with a long black fruit herbal woodsy finish. Let's look to the week ahead with positivity and hope. Stay healthy, strong and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 years ago
This is a lo Ely bottle of wine. It's got a hit of sharpness that stops it being too sweet. Its wide and fruity and the wife loves it. Personally I prefer the Definition sauvignon as it's more fruity. For me the lick of lime rather overpowers the fruit. Didn't stop me happily drinking a whole bottle .... — 4 years ago
Buy it. Bloody delicious. The only one that beats it is the bread and butter pinot noir. — 4 years ago

Not ready for prime-time just yet, but that didn’t prevent us from committing the felony.
Pale straw color in the glass links up with lemon curd and a hint of gooseberries. Robust acidity frames this up nicely. Finishes taught and with urgency. Drinking the best wines in the world can be a little like fumbling around in the dark. But with this, I can see in the dark. — 6 months ago
