The Nocton Vineyard from Coal River Valley in Tassy just 8 minutes from Tolpuddle Vineyard. Fantastic wine which presents the same logistical nightmare as TPV for us.

The Central Otago TOSQ reveals even larger nightmares as it’s partially fermented before making the journey to a residential winery with tight restrictions on operations.

Really enjoyed this wine, and everything else that comes from this vineyard. Smooth dark cherry taste with a finish like warm baked bread and spices. Tannins so firm they seemed to be hanging out ten minutes later.

Faulty but intriguing. What’s right and what’s wrong though? There’s some brett, a little VA, maybe moussy but I’m not great at picking that up. No sense of place though. A James Halliday nightmare (giggle). — 5 years ago
