Donum 2017 Russian River Pinot. A clear bright true garnet color. What a nose! Dark candy cherry and spice burst from the glass with hints of vanilla and subtle cedar and hay. Taste—a dark cherry flavor full of body with a savory feel that sits on the tongue to the mid pallet absorbing the taste of the fruit trickling on the sides of the pallet. The flavors change to a more metallic bitter taste at the back of tongue where the tannins need to integrate with the other flavors of the wine. Can’t wait to try this wine in 5-10 years. Hints of chocolate with herbs, this port wine is truly delicious. A definite must buy again. — 3 days ago
Bumping up the rating a bit cause ... electric Chardonnay acid test is such a damn good name and anyone who doesn’t love this wine for that alone is lacking in the most rudimentary sense of wonder and childhood delight! A fun easy going wine, 90% Chardonnay 10% Riesling, but the later comes across strong. Bright green apple, pear, slate, petrol, must drink while listening to rock and roll while dropping ... actually, scratch that last thought ;) — a day ago
I must have got the best bottle of the batch. Glorious. Went down singing the national anthem. — 8 days ago
