2016 vintage, drank April 2022. This wine just continues to impress. Really wish they still made it. Black and red fruit blended so perfectly. Super smooth tannins now with just the right backbone to hold the oak, vanilla, leather, minerality, and dust together. Amazing finish! One of my favorites for sure. — 2 years ago
These grapes have very visible tannins (on the back of the tongue. ) After a bit, dark fruit will take hold. — 2 years ago
Nope, nope, nope….

Second time having this wine. Dark ruby with a nose of blackberries, cassis, violets, and lavender. Also picking up notes of anise and vanilla this time. Perfectly balanced, everyone is playing well together on this wine. The acidity, tannin, and fruit are in perfect harmony across the long, powerful finish. Had to pair this with a nice steak. Did a steak tasting along with this wine. Cast iron seared Snake River Farms(SRF) ribeye medallion, SRF sirloin, and a local grocery store NY strip. I would have expected the ribeye to be the winner, but the sirloin was the favorite for all of us. All that being said the wine paired perfectly. Also had a glass of this wine with my wife’s pot roast the day before and it was divine. Hearty beef is a perfect pairing for this powerful wine. — a year ago
Black Star Farms ‘Arcturos’ Dry Riesling 2019: Light acidity. Bright fruit. Clean & refreshing taste. Apple. Pear. Apricot. Citrus. Stone. Crisp, off-dry finish. All in all, a beautiful & surprising Riesling from the great state of Michigan. So surprised I had to bring back to my hotel room! Happy Sunday! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
Dark purple and ruby out of the bottle. Solid fruit and damp leaves on the nose. Deep and bright with many layers that opened over a 2-3 hour decant. Great balance of fruit, acid and a deeply tannic finish. Drink now, or see what happens in 5-10 years. Can’t go wrong. — 2 years ago
Ripe red fruit but still balanced — 2 years ago
Light lemon yellow in the glass… stone fruit, almonds, yeasty brioche are initial impressions, then the blast of zippy acid, and the long apple, pear on biscuit finish. Very elegant… very approachable… very good. Perfect with baked Brie and strawberry from Granor Farms, MI. — 2 years ago
