I am not the biggest fan of a lot of CA Chardonnays but, I have come to fully embrace Arnot-Roberts, this vintage & terrior.
This is not a wine you want well chilled...better just under room temperature. When well chilled, it loses too much of its beauty & sheer elegance. Shows more CA Chardonnay structure/backbone with big green apple. When it is cold it does pair better with the Lattebusche Piave Vecchio...a drier, harder cheese. When it warms, the best choice is the Jasper Hill Farms soft, full cream. white, Harbison.
After it has warmed & had about a half-hour of air, the nose is rounded, lush & ruby. Sweet & sour lemon, green & golden apple, overripe pineapple, guava, green melon, kiwi with skin, lime candy, caramel, gentle, white spice, just a glimmer of, herbaceousness, chalk, grey volcanics, melted, brown butter with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine, spring flowers with mixed greens.
The body is rich, lush and full, a touch gluey with good viscosity. Sweet & sour lemon, green & golden apple, overripe pineapple, guava, green melon, kiwi with skin, tangerine, lime candy, honeysuckle, caramel, cream, gentle, white spice, just a glimmer of, herbaceousness, chalk, grey volcanics, limestone, melted, brown butter with yellow flowers/lilies, jasmine, spring flowers with mixed greens. The acidity is phat, round and really well done. The rich, well balanced, elegant, long finish is delicious, settling into persistent, delicate white spice.
Just misses 94.

On the Gruner Meyers Briggs, a spectrum from smokey green to glowing yellow, this is a thriving golden extrovert through to the seam, loaded with fruit and zippy acid. And I'm shocked as this has 12 years on it.
Rich, opulent, complex, textured, outspoken. A very tropical wine with complexity and nuance. Sugar coated dried pineapple wedges. The thickest slowest seep of canned peach syrup. Papaya, Guava. Passion fruit. A touch oily but so much acid to go along with all that fruit.
It has that Gruner note. The peppery one - kind of barely there, for just a little seasoning. — a year ago

Happy Good Friday to everyone. I have opened the 2020 Au Bon Climat Pinot Gris Pinot Blanc. The blend is 60% Pinot Gris and 40% Pinot Blanc from Santa Barbara County, California.
Onnthe nose there is white peach, meyers lemon, lime, pear, hints of oak and minerality.
On the palate I am getting citrus, lemon, green apple, pear, yeast, vanilla and steely minerality.
This wine is medium to light body and medium to medium+ acidity with a long citrus gravel and steely mineral finish. Have a wonderful Easter weekend and drink some top tear wines. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂 — 2 years ago
2014 Vintage. 16% Alcohol. Needs a bit more time but extremely enjoyable. First time we’ve seen a white wax seal on any SQN. Part of Gail’s birthday celebration. With black truffles on house made fettuccine at Il Cortile in Paso Robles. First wine from that wooden six pack. After a day of tastings at Torrin, McPrice Meyers, Fulldraw, Booker and Benom, had to be a special bottle to stand out! Paso rocks! — 3 years ago
