La Nature'l Extra Brut 1er Cru Champagne Blend

Dry, light, citrus. Not overly complex. Nicer cavas are better value. — 3 months ago

Cuvee Origine Ludes Village de la Montagne de Reims Premier Cru Champagne Blend

Give it some time and it really shows. Citrus, floral, bright berry, salinity and my kind of acidity with just enough richness and mineral balance! Delicious juice — 5 months ago

Cuvée Nature Extra Brut 1er Cru Pinot Meunier

Champs to start the evening. Pinot Meunière seems a bit more savory, nutty and structured than your typical champagne varietals. Dig it. Not sure why this app thinks it’s a red though. 😂 — a year ago

Pinot Meunière is a red grape. The remove the skins and seeds for fermentation which leaves it white. Blanc de Noir.

Invitation Brut Champagne Blend

So good. Clean, brioche, green apple, crushed rocks and great acid. Was lucky enough to visit the winery last year. Really great producer. — 4 months ago

Extra Quality Brut Champagne Blend

Popped and poured; no formal notes. The “Extra Quality” is a silly, old-school sounding designation…but this is sort of an old-school style of Champagne. It was a little “meh” on the first pour; unwilling to show much. However, with some air it opened up and displayed a pleasant balance of fruit and autolytic character. Works a little better with food than an aperitif. Disgorged May of 2022 — 4 months ago

I’m a fan of this producer. Had their 2010 BdB a few days ago…excellent.

@Shay A I’ve enjoyed this producer the few times I’ve had the opportunity to experience them. Last summer, we drank their ‘99 d’Harbonville and that was outstanding

Pauline Collin Bérêche

Montagne de Reims - Ludes 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes Champagne Pinot Noir 2016

Inaugural release from Pauline, Raphaël Bérèche’s wife. Made of old-vine Pinot Noir from her own family’s estate. 48 months on lees and with a dosage of 3.5 g/l. Scarce as hen’s teeth with a mere 1996 bottles produced. Delicious, though I did find it a tad simple (and primary). Heaps of green apples and citrus fruits. Tasted almost like Zapple for those in the know. Air did coax out the more mineralic elements, along with hints of nuttiness and toast. Good energy. A lovely first release and definitely one to follow. — 8 months ago

Huré Frères

Instantanée Champagne Blanc de Noir 2016

Nose is lees, lemon, honey, apple, pear, and floral scents. (One of the most aromatic champagnes I’ve run across). Dry on the palate with more lees, lemon, grapefruit, quince, gunpowder, and lots of minerals. Medium fine bubbles, high acid, and a long finish. — a year ago
