San Giorgio Spumante Erbaluce di Caluso

Sparkling Erbaluce in Alba from benchmark producer. Learned that outside of Canavese, the name Erbaluce cannot be used. It seems that sometimes the Italians - and Alto Piedmontese (a name we in the US bestowed on a them) let their hyper local regional alliances and squabbles - undermine their global marketability. Orange blossoms, vanilla, chocolate, tobacco, underwood. Remanent finish, Intense wine. To drink in 5/10 years

Monte Dall'Ora

San Giorgio Alto Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2015

The nicest Classico Superiore we’ve had. And with a slight chill along burgers, yum. Has a great nose of muddy black cherries, trees, leafy decay, as it warms, it’s pronounced deep red.
On the palate, bright acidity up front with a tactile slight roughness, pomegranates and cherries, delicious balance.
These bottles don’t disappoint.
