Alto Piemonte Nebbiolo. Gorgeous, pale-brick color. Velvety, leather, ripe black fruit, dried roses, tobacco and tar, but with high-altitude and northern Piedmont freshness, minerals, and perfumed elegance. From Flatiron Wines. — 4 years ago
Nose: holy cow. Incredibly intense. Pink Rose petals. Almost searing. Gorgeous. Swirling. So pretty. Lilacs. Chocolate. Gentle Nebbiolo spice. A masterpiece of winemaking. A 9.8 nose. So beautiful you can’t believe something this gorgeous exists.
Palate: intense early season cherries. Phenomenally linear. So precise. The elegance on this is off the charts. So juicy and fresh. Hints of leather.
Finish just clings. Nebbiolo spice. Fresh run cherry juice. I can’t believe that this is 8 years old.

Popped and poured. The 2015 Lessona from Proprieta Sperino is absolutely singing right now; pretty much right out of the gate. The solar nature of the vintage is on full display but the elegance of Lessona is still there. Bright garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears and no signs of sediment. On the nose, bright, ripe red fruits: cherries, strawberries and raspberries with red flowers, dried herbs and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with silky medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. Lovely texture! The finish is long and delicious. Drinking well now and should do so for at least another 7+ years. — 4 months ago
Showing some tertiary notes here.. pretty purfumed nose, roses and violets, met with a sense of dirty mushrooms, balsamic reduction, and sap. Round mouthfeel with integrating tannin, well balanced with elegant acidity. Bright red fruit holds strong delivering typicity and length. Perfect with mushroom veloute! Drink now with a quick decant. — 3 years ago
