Lehigh Valley%2c Pennsylvania

Galen Glen

Stone Cellar Grüner Veltliner

Ah Gruner.

Nice clear pale yellow.

Melon, mineral, tropical fruits, pineapple, and a bit of petrol.

Slight slight effervescent quality. Great, solid expression of gruner. Chalky, loamy, pineapple, and limestone.

Oak up front with a hint of the caramel on the backend. In between there is the essence of lemon and minerals. — a year ago

Lehigh Valley Rosé Blend 2020

8.9

This review is for the Stone Cellar Dry Rose, which is different than their standard rose, but it isn’t recognized by the app. I’ve had Galen Glen’s standard rose and have found it disappointing and cloying. But this is a totally different animal. According to Cork Report, it’s 50% zweigelt rose, 48% Gruner Veltliner, and 2% Chambourcin. This is insanely refreshing. Probably the most interesting rose I’ve had so far this year. Picked it up in a mixed case on my way home from the Poconos. Wish I would have added more bottles to my order. — 3 years ago

Galen Glen

Lehigh Valley Grüner Veltliner 2016

A crisp and “minerally” PA White. Straw gold in color with a green hue. Aromas of pear, straw and lemon grass. Flavors of pear, fresh thyme, and slate. Zippy acidity. Really good. — 5 years ago

Lehigh Valley Cabernet Franc 2018

Who knew they made great wine in the Lehigh Valley? This is the top grape in the region according to the producer. Shockingly good. Ripe berries, delicious soil, and well balanced. Will be buying again. Thanks to Peggy @ Earth for hooking it up. A very nice first Pennsylvanian wine for me. — 3 years ago
