Domaine de la Citadelle

Gouverneur St. Auban Syrah Blend 2011

A near perfect example of what a Provence ted can achieve. Picked this up at the vineyard site 3 years ago, loved it then love it now. Still strong and full with a smoky almost mesquite aroma, silky deep red and black fruits sitting on herbs and dark stones. 3011 vintage, at its probable peak although I wouldn’t be surprised it will get wvdn better over next 3 years, — 4 years ago

Gouverneur Saint-Auban Vaucluse Red Rhone Blend 2013

Dark ruby color, translucent, beautiful clarity. Elegant nose, notable evolution between undergrowth, leather, and smoke. Notes of black and red fruits, spices, mocha, roasting... Blindly you could just as well be in the Rhône Nord, as in burgundy on solar cuvées. In the mouth it's pleasant the complexity is average but well balanced. Correct length. The freshness is clearly declining. It's to drink now.

Longueur correcte. La fraîcheur est clairement déclinantes. C’est à boire maintenant.
