Garage de Papa Rouge Red Blend 2013
Mostly Petite Sirah and Carignan. Dark, profound, a touch sweet but not overripe or hot. Tannins still a bit chewy in a savoury way. A real garagiste wine, though very well crafted by the father and son team of Amnon and Ido Lewinsohn. Perhaps even too well made, missing just a slight hint of funk. — 8 years ago
Nice wine, but I didn't like it that much. I found it to be too expensive, actually. Cheers
It's a style I like a lot, with 2014 looking even better, less sweet. It's pricey, I agree but I think it is justified when comparing with equivalent quality from California or the Rhône Valley.

Very clsssy nose, with dark cherry, a bit ido kirsch, a touch of nutmeg. Plus a savoury, slightly mineral, rocky edge. Fresh, succulent.
On the palate this is supple, juicy, very fresh with ripe fruit held in. A lance with energetic acidity. Love the velvety, smooth yet present tannins - adding a nice frame to the wine. Great drinkability, beautiful balance, nice flow.
A classic, fresh, juicy Amarone. Works perfectly with roast goose!
