Taking a cue from @Severn Goodwin I’m drinking some MO wine, which is made just a few hours from where I live. I had never had anything by Stone Hill prior to this, assuming it wasn’t very good, but I was wrong. This is a great light bodied red and was great with a slight chill. Black and blue fruits, forest floor, and a mineral streak combine with medium + acid and light tannins for an easy drinking, dry, fresh red. I bought a few of this producer’s wines and look forward to trying the others. A pleasant surprise! — 2 years ago
Full of flavour but not too sweet, delicious taste with apple and floral notes. — 5 years ago
Ok, this will read a little oddly...
Decanted 2H. Somewhat Meursault-like... Nose has dried pineapple, hazelnut butter and fresh honey. Palate has warmed pear, browning butter and dried lime zest.
24H Update:
Nose has candied pineapple, slight vanilla oak, crushed hazelnut, buckwheat honey and lemon zest. Palate has warmed pear, lime pith, browning butter and oxidized yellow apple. This bottle is really changing my perception of MO wines, we've certainly had good whites/reds from the State, but this is a different standard. I'll still confess if blinded, this is Meursault, after several hours of air last night, and again with 24 hours of air, just wow! — 2 years ago

Stone Hill Winery; Reserve
Ozark Mountain; Hermann, MO USA
(88-89; Drink on release or hold 2022-25)
Capped via Stelvin closure.
This has actually picked up on the nose/palate since our last bottle 210 wks ago, similar but more expressive. I continue to be satisfied by waiting on all of the Stone Hill wines. — a year ago
Very light and easy — 2 years ago
Blinded a dear buddy in the wine trade on this tonight, guesses all over the place, in a great spot, want to see this in 10+Y.
72H Update:
Nose has crushed blackberries, ripe plum, dried plum, dried tart cherries, moist mahogany and faint moist soil. Palate has tart plum, light molasses, blackberry compote, faint leather notes and fine tannins. Not as good as day one, but no slouch on day three. A wonderful experience, many years in the bottle to go ahead. — 2 years ago
