These are night 2 notes. (I thought I entered notes on Night 1, but they weren’t there, so Night 2 it is. And that’s a bonus for this wine because it’s better on Night 2.)
Nose is gorgeous, with sweet, sultry cherry ooze, Graham cracker, some moist humus, and a dark florality. Very soft and enveloping in the mouth, great fruit on entry, good mid-palate density and ripeness, and a long finish that tails into savory territory. Really fine value. — 3 years ago
My first experience with this producer, and wow! White burgundy is very hit or miss for me, but this was a total hit.
In the glass, someone could have told me they poured me Kongsgaard and I’d of believed them. Deep golden color. Even aromatically and initially on the palate it was as though someone blended Kongsgaard (very Hudson like), with mersault. There is a bitter honey/truffle honey note up front alongside overripe peach, honey roasted cashews, and orange marmalade. On the palate, it’s certainly rich but not so much from oak...honeycomb, honey covered cotton candy, caramel dipped golden delicious apples, almond shavings and a kiss of lanolin on the finish. This only improved in the bottle after 2-3hrs of being open. Drinking wonderfully right now. I need to hunt down some bottles! Thanks for the heads up here, @David T . — 3 years ago
The 2019 Sancerre Les Chasseignes has a ripe and open expression. It fills the mouth with a sense of effortlessness, which Stephane Riffault puts down to both the caillottes soil and the ripeness of the vintage. It is in the riper spectrum of Sauvignon aromatics. This wine leaves the variety's green flavors far behind and focuses instead on orchard fruit and almost heads into the realms of tropical fruit, which isn't something you normally associate with Sancerre. Gently refreshing with the caillottes providing a line of chalkiness on the finish. One for the short to medium term due to the vintage's ripe profile. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, August 2021)

The 2016 Memento Mori is an absolutely fabulous wine from Sam Kaplan in this vintage. Sourced from Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Beckstoffer Las Piedras in St. Helena, along with two Oakville vineyards, Weitz Vineyard and for the first time Oakville Ranch. This fantastic Cabernet opens to stunning aromas of ripe blackberries, crème de cassis, violets, graphite, sweet spices and hints of sage all emerging from the glass. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous full body with beautifully polished tannins and outstanding overall balance. Structured and concentrated with layers of ripe dark and blue fruits that are framed by a lovely touch of underlying acidity that provides wonderful lift and a sense of freshness as it heads into the the long polished finish. Overall, the 2016 is an absolutely sensational wine that captures the wonderful elements of the vintage and will go on to evolve gracefully for many years to come. — 5 years ago
This was so good at the winery, but different a couple months later with the bottle we brought home. Still good, though, but not as. — 2 years ago
Bold but with excellent balance of tannins - surprising and delicious! — 3 years ago
100% Sciaccarellu, a grape that underperforms in Italy, shows impressively in Corsica, and who’s primary characteristic is apparently to make wine nerds scratch their heads. Fresh black plumb, lavender, English breakfast tea. Also showing notes of alpine strawberry, red berries, blood orange Medium bodied, and light on its feet; refreshing but only medium acidity; with the complexity coming from nuances of fresh fruit flavors. Not Transcendent, but infinitely drinkable, unique, and tasty — 5 years ago

Always really enjoy wines produced by co-fermentation like this one. Seems to add a lightness but with more body than you usually find in a straight red glou glou wine. Salty strawberries. Zippy, juicy. — a year ago
