Nose is ripe with tobacco, ash, earth, plum and cassis. Spice and cigar as well. Nice aromas. Refined and classy. Juicy and bright with nice freshness and good suave tannins. Nice cassis and big cherry berry fruit. Elegant and classy. Suave wine and very well made. Best Petra wine yet. Long finish. A lot to like here. Initially backwards and sharp-edged after 90 mins and a warmup from cellar temp this was singing. Classic Sangiovese, sour cherry and dark chocolate. Asphalt. Elegant and feminine. The 15% Cabernets were nowhere to be seen, almost disappeared tannins suggest this should be drunk up soon, which is hardly punishment... — 4 days ago

Nice nose of tobacco, tobacco leaf, pencil shavings on this 100% Cabernet from Tuscany. Cooling blue and red fruits and nice mineralIty. Nice aromatic spectrum to the nose. Palate is ripe and juicy with exquisite balance and purity. Best wine from Petra by far. Pure and sappy fruit that is sweet with really good tannins. Killer freshness and texture. Suave and elegant tannins. Very juicy and clean. Excellent. Terrific depth and structure. This is very serious and shows off how good 16 is in Tuscany. Maybe a 9.4. — 9 days ago

Oreno Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2014

Just opened a bottle! Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to the 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Had this in a restaurant with a porterhouse. Very dark Ruby with concentrated aromas of dark fruits & earthy notes. Flavors of cherry & plum with tobacco and spice. Fine approachable tannins, medium length ending with a bit of spice as the finish builds. Great now! — 5 days ago
