This is actually the Gaspar Smith rather than the Scott Smith. Although this wasn’t the red label, it was a treat to try this rare Cabernet from a legendary, extinct Santa Clara winery. Consensus was some VA on opening, but this really fleshed out nicely over several hours. Glad there were some great Bordeaux’s in the House to help this one stay in the shadows long enough to let it evolve. — 6 years ago
Pali Cortado, around 80 yrs old from solera that used to belong to Gasper Florido. Single Cask, bottle December 2013. The aroma on this was incredible. The taste was the opposite from the nose. Smoke/burnt note with notable presence of walnuts. Preferred this over the 49. Great bottle to try. First time experiencing old sherry. — 7 years ago

80yr Amontillado purchased from Pedro Romero purchased from Gasper Florido. Reminded me a little bit of scotch with the peaty, smoke notes, except this has acidity. Walnut note was similar to the 47 though less present. Preferred nose of the 47 to 49. A great experience trying an old sherry. — 7 years ago

NV. Enjoyed this same wine with dessert at Jaleo recently and it paired great again today at Bar Spero with the torrijas with pumpkin sauce and green walnuts.
