Martín Códax

Rías Baixas Albariño

Always consistent. Light golden color. Aromas of peach, apple, white flowers and apricot. Same fruits on the palate (along with a hint of grapefruit) with crisp mineral notes and a touch of saline on the long bright finish. Bright acidity and nicely structured. — 3 days ago

La Rioja Alta

Viña Alberdi Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2019

100% tempranillo, aged in oak for 2 years. Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits, spice and herb notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of oak and black pepper notes. Fine soft tannins, great balance with acidity, long finish ending with fruit, vanilla, oak and slight earthy spice character. Will age short term! — 15 days ago

Raventos i Blanc

de Nit Rosé Cava Blend

Beautiful blanc / blush transparent pink - white in the glass.

Just a classy clean bouquet with aromas of raspberry, peaches, and the light waft of fresh bread.

Nice mousse, not overpowering. Monastrell comes through. Big, unencumbered, and inconspicuously fresh and bold. Peaches and raspberries with a light bready character. Cherries.

Rías Baixas Albariño

Really nice and smooth Albariño. Very lemony scent and flavor - also tasted somewhat sour like green apply — 8 days ago

Bodegas Muga

Selección Especial Rioja Tempranillo 2016

Deep ruby in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Very dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blueberries, plums, cooked cherries, black currants, light cedar, dark coffee, chocolates, earth, peppercorn, pencil lead, tobacco leaf, light vegetables and bitter herbs.

Short, tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranates.

This 8 year old Rioja Reserva is still young and very dry, but already drinkable.

Lacking a bit of fruits on the palate, but the nose is gorgeous, once it opens up. The nose is more interesting than the palate at this point.

Needs a few hours to open up properly, so take your time.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years. Would be interesting to try it again in 5 years.

A good food wine that will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak.

A blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Graciano.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

$50.

Clos Mogador

Priorat Red Blend 2013

See previous note 2 years ago in March 2022. Still very consistent impressions. Black and blue fruits, as mentioned before. Dried plum and earth with herbal notes (fennel). Priorat Garnacha and Garnacha blends are some of my favourite wine styles. Clos Mogador is biodynamic and Rene Barbier does not use chemicals in the vineyard. — 10 days ago
