When I tasted this initially my mouth was full of cheese or Clos de la Roche, something, as the SGN was delicious but maybe a little soft? The next taste found me choking on the blistering acidity. This wine has legs! Also, the botrytis is so clean it really ups the enjoyment. — a year ago

Like the Keller Von der Fels, we've got a GG-killer over here. According to Pinard de Picard, this is the second most sought after Riesling in Germany, after the VdF of course, and I can definitely see why. It's intense and concentrated, yet super fine. Aromas of tangerine, lemon drops, white flowers, smoke, wet stones, and nutmeg. The palate's a little more forgiving than previous encounters with Julian's wines. Nice fruit richness, but don't get me wrong, the acidity's still the trademark enamel-stripping kind. Really enjoyed this wine, but the best thing is it's price. Such great value! — 5 years ago

Wow. What a wine!

Nose is candied lemon intense white flower. Elegant richness. A kiss of honey. Dense.

Palate is rich. Luscious. Utterly delicious but so sophisticated. Almost like a honey spice.

A kiss of RS rounds it out.

A masterpiece. Almost like Keller Hubacker if it were more elegant.

Wow. Cooling blue fruited nose. Blueberry, light mulch, echoes of Walter but also e and M. Mulberry, red cherries, cranberry, spice and mint. Refined and gorgeous. Huge terroir footprint. Mineral stoniness. Smells like Vosne Romanee. Just a sick elegant perfume with no hard edges. Super dreamy nose. Smells like high end village burg. What depth and sweetness while remaining elegant, well fruited and restrained. Energetic and straight as an arrow but with luscious engaging cherry fruit. Delicate, nimble and mineral. Amazing fruit quality and delicacy here. Juicy and so drinkable but deep, serious and complex. Red Riesling to the max. So so juicy with incredibly ripe and classy tannnins. Fruit soak is exquisite. Blueberry and cherry so pure. Balanced perfectly and endless finish with a terrific fruit set. This is stunning. Amazing sweetness and density. Has structure for mid term aging.
