Corte Di Castello

Castello di Volpaia

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2021

The nose is intense, intense, ripe cherry, almond, black tea, soy sauce, this is complex and inviting. The palate is acid driven, showing some young and lively tannins, but it's rich, broad, with some matter on the side, cherries and black tea notes, a bowl of a mid palate with that tannic effect, and a long tannic finish with cherry, a tiny salty, savoury note, some black tea and a bit of a zing thzt lasts for a good minute. Good stuff — 13 days ago

Marchesi Antinori

Castello della Sala Cervaro della Sala Umbria Chardonnay Grechetto 2022

Well done….for wood lovers! A good wine, but the taste of a bit too much barrique express the goal to make a international wine ( mainly America) not one who express the terroir of Umbria. — 2 months ago

Vigna l'Apparita Toscana IGT Merlot 2020

Considered the star of the CdA lineup, and similar to their chiantis which all have some Merlot blended in, but this was too much Merlot for me - had that plasticity I don’t love — 6 days ago

Sesti (Castello di Argiano)

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2022

Delectable Wine
9.1

Darkly floral, the 2022 Rosso di Montalcino opens with a blend of grilled herbs, exotic spices and steeped plums. It's a racy and fruit-forward effort with masses of ripe red and blue fruits swirling across a lively acidity stream. This tapers off with medium length and gently tannic, leaving a lovely resonance of inner rose. (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2024)
