Poggio Romano Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2001

Lots of layers to this. Brick red color. Starts with aromas of petrol, flavors of blackberry and briar. Then moves to cherry, tobacco, licorice with lavender aromas. Towards the end I get blueberry. Like having three separate wines over a course of less than 2 hours. Medium body and tannins, with plenty of acidity. Worked very well with red sauce lasagna. Decent with a lamb chop and portobello ravioli. — 4 years ago

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend

Amazing. Slight pepper smell. Very much like a comfort food you can't wait to try. Taste is like velvet. Slow and easy over the tongue and vanishes leaving you in amazement!
