This Right Bank Bordeaux is bright Ruby red, from a blend of Merlot (80%), rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Fresh red fruit with cedar spice aromas. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with some cacao and licorice notes, adding oak and mineral tones. Fine tannins, medium finish, good balance with fruit, ending with smoky oak character, drink now on the younger side, no real benefit from long-term aging. — 3 years ago

The origins of the Damilano family dates back to over a century ago, when Guiseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. Medium Ruby with aromas of fresh berry fruits and generous spice. On the palate this medium body wine shows flavors of juicy cherry and blackberry with notes of citrus and vanilla spice. Light tannin structure, lively acidity, medium ending with fruit finish. Nice value. Drink now, consistent, no aging benefit. — 2 years ago

Deep Ruby with medium intensity aromas of black and red fruits with herbs, pepper spice and toasty notes, has 12% Syrah in the blend, aged for 16 months in 10% new barrels. On the palate flavors blackberry and blueberry with notes of tobacco, pepper, dried herb spice with slight sweet tones. Well balanced, vivid acidity, full ripe tannins, full-body ending with toasty vanilla character. Very good, bottle age will benefit. Nice value! — 4 years ago
