Had the 2016 on my flight to nyc. Black / red fruits (black currant, black cherry) / vanilla chocolate oak. Earthy / spicy. Mid acid mid tannins Med to high alcohol. B 0.75 L 0.5 I 0.75 C 0.5 = 2.5 — 3 years ago
Sept 2020 $? (~15-20?) at Norman’s. Color: garnet with corona of raisiny brown. Open about 30 min and... fine. Not sweet, good tannins in mouth, no linger. Unremarkable and goes down easily. After bottle open about 90 min, more spice and edge, classic yet not complex (at all) Pinot flavor. Alc %14.5 but does not land as a “strong” wine. No actual negatives but would only buy ‘16 again for $8 or less. High rating b/c so very easy to drink. — 4 years ago

Had the 2019 at ashino with Kenlee, after having bought it after the wset tasting. It was my favorite bottle of the two days. Pale gold color; Oak, pear/ apple/ lemon / nut / biscuit ; medium intensity, dry, high acid, mid alcohol, medium bodied; mid length B 0.75 L 0.5 I 0.5 C 0.5 = 2.25 — 3 years ago
On one of those “oh, shit it’s Mother’s Day” kind of days when you want to open something truely quaffable, after the perfunctory bottle of Moët, this is under appreciated. Best left for when you need to: a) impress on your first date with a supermodel b) convince Johnson that you are the man for the big Clarkson account c) apologise for forgetting your significant others birthday, or d) take a sling at Bourgeois depression
Fantastic drop, but probably better cellared for a while longer. — 4 years ago
Opened another recently, legendary wine, said that in the 18th century was introduced to Sultan of Constantinople's palace b/c of its clarity and called "mineral water from Carbonnieux", defying Islamic law. Pale lemon with pronounce aromas of tropical and stone fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of melon, mango, apple, green herbs and a crisp mineral edge. Medium+ length, balanced acidity, ending with a fruit, citrus mineral character. Nice, aging well. — 3 years ago
From 30-year old vines. 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha (no ‘11 made b/c Garnacha wasn’t great). Tempranillo spent 36 months on 4-year old American oak, Garnacha spent 30 months on 2-year old American oak. Ruby with nose of red fruit, cedar and floral citrus notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, currant and orange peel with vanilla, cacao and tobacco notes. Well developed, fine tannins, long finish ending with earthy mineral flavor. Very Nice! — 4 years ago
