B De Berticot

Michel Arnould & Fils

B.50 Champagne Blend 2008

A mistake to open this so early. At first it was acidic and slightly disjointed, but 2 hrs of air allowed it to show ita potential. On the nose: very rich, with brioche, vanilla, loads of dense fruit to back it up. On the palate, fantastic acidity, lemon oil, rich mousse and great density, some wild strawberry. Long finish. Revisit with 《significant》additional bottle age. — 17 days ago

White blend. A bit too light. Lots of minerality. Notes of peach and lemon. Nice, but not outstanding. — 8 days ago

Wallufer Walkenberg Kabinett Trocken Riesling 2017

Don’t sleep on the 2017 J.B. Becker Wallufer Walkenberg Riesling Spätlese trocken.  While upon first opening seeming coy and withdrawn, yet it wasn’t long before a seductive display of peach, young mango, hints of kiwi, white smoke and wet stone evolved in the glass. At first soft, yet then suddenly salty and intense, tugging at the senses with mineral-driven tension, backed by zesty acids with a green apple twang.  The cheeks pucker for another sip, yet at this youthful stage, I have to wonder if I could ever satisfy the craving.  It may be best to lose a few bottles in a cold cellar for a year or two more. — 3 days ago

Super B Auvergne Gamay

Dark and quite concentrated, but low tannins. Extremely wild, evolves in the glass over the course of minutes. Lilac, red berries, wet leafs, leather and tar. Truly a fun and tasty experience. — a month ago

Alta B Red Blend

Slight hint of sweetness, but clean drinking with no after bites of any kind. No tannin flavors. An absolutely great red blend and my husband also loved it, too. — 5 days ago

Block B Paso Robles Syrah 2014

Drats I should have waited to open the 2014 Block B. Its July 2020 and discovered this wine is still in its infancy. Has tremendous potential w nose tannins mouthfeel taste to be a real superstar. Would recommend laying down for another 3-4 years. — 5 days ago

Gratitude Olsen Brothers Vineyard Red Blend 2013

Definitely a hot year wine. So a bit loose, but by no means do I think that ruins it. It is just a young drinking, fruit forward/jammy treat. On the nose, ripe strawberry, red plums, a hint of wet stone, and some fleshy notes are all in the GSM wheelhouse. Where it delights is the palate: the strawberry is pronounced, but there are a lot of nuanced flavors of: graphite, black plum/currant, blackberry, black tea, smoke and tobacco. Yum! — 17 days ago
