Roasted beets, allspice, porcini, freshly-turned earth, roast squab juices. Explosively aromatic and engaging, with an ethereally fine texture and incredible freshness and length on the palate. A haunting and evocative presence here that few 12.5% alcohol modern reds can manage. The only comparisons that come to mind are old Bize Savignys. I now understand why so many experts believe Andreas Widmann to be Italy’s greatest grape grower. — 5 years ago
Didn’t think I was going to like it when I opened the bottle - it was amazing after sitting for a bit - minerallly — 6 years ago
I love love love this. Lemon-y. Tart. A little wheat-y? Perfect. — 6 years ago
Birthday treat to myself. I drank this poolside for my 31st. It surprised me for its ease of drinking. It drank like a structure PG from Alto-Adige, or more imaginative Manzoni bianco. It had a phenolic grip that relieved the supple generosity of the mid-palate. I didn't eat during the drinking experience, I'd like to see it with grilled dense white fish, or fowl and charred veggies, or greasy fish and chip. — 7 years ago
This was a lovely wine. Notes of honey, and spice (nutmeg and vanilla) on the nose for me. When at its most chilled it had a stronger acidic bite. I enjoyed it as it started to warm up towards room temp and round out. — 4 years ago
One of Sir Elton’s finest. Pretty much perfect songwriting here. The wine is dense, yet juicy with bright acidity and powerful dark fruit. An indigenous variety from Romagna. Something I could drink pretty much forever. Beautiful wine. — 5 years ago
I chose this cuz I was missing an Italian orange wine. Not as clear sappy and round as i like it but its different, its tannic, woody, smokey, with an italian green olive aftertaste. Growing to love it more. Edit: smells dirty — 7 years ago
