In a sweet spot. Toasted buckwheat and shaved coconut, dried pineapple, citrus, apricot tagine, brown butter, caramel, sage, white pepper and white tea. Zingy and so long. Salty, with a subtle sweetness and great texture. Resonant minerals round out the finish. Superb.
There’s actually a real affinity between these noble Bordeaux blancs from Chevalier and Lopez de Heredia’s gran reserva blancos. — 2 years ago
Thursday night and I have opened the 2017 Andrew Will Two Blondes Vineyard Cabernet Franc. It is a beautiful bottle of wine to start the weekend off right. Then again i do have an affinity for Cabernet Franc and Andrew Will wines.
On the nose there is good fruit of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, red plum, roasted red pepper, bell pepper, violet and crushed gravel.
On the palate there is raspberry, strawberry, red plum, green bell pepper, red currant, new oak and forrest floor
This wine is medium to full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + fine tannins that move seamlessly into a long fresh red fruit finish. This is just another reason why I have come to enjoy the Andrew Will wines. This weekend is already starting out right. Have a great weekend and please stay healthy and safe. I havre an affinity for this wine that goes back many years. I suppose you can call me a loyal follower. Happy to see this at local grocery store price has increased since first bottle i bought. I still believe it’s a sleeper pick. Price is half than comparable wines. But this is my opinion. Wine is personal. We each have our own tastes and preferences. . — 2 years ago
This was crisp! I love nothing more than crisp, refreshing, graceful, off-dry, so smooth and bubbly on my palette (live for that quality - always makes me smile like a morning sunrise), delicate fruitful aroma without overpowering the senses! Riesling to me is that wine that you can open up anytime of the day. With or without food! And I say that rarely! I would pair this maybe with a spicy pasta or jalapeño poppers! Riesling is usually my happy place! It still is, but I’m noticing a growing affinity for reds lately. Surprise! Surprise! None other than to me! — 4 years ago
Beautiful. Becoming more confident in my affinity for vacqueyras — a year ago
Apple, lemon, grapefruit, peach and honeydew melon. Bright acidity and great minerality. — 2 years ago
This was a real treat to enjoy courtesy of @Bryan Kesting being in town, and since we both share an affinity for Antica Terra wines, he was kind enough to bring a 2012 Antikythera.
In the past month, I’ve had the 2012, 2015 and 2017, and this 2012 shows just how incredible these wines can age. I would say this is probably the most impressive OR Pinot I’ve had to date. So much balance here. On the nose, it is quite expressive with potpourri/red and purple floral notes and herb crusted black cherries. The palate is supremely balanced between the herbal/earth/clay like notes encapsulated by underripe red and black fruits and a kiss of sweetness...kirsch like? The core here nods to burgundy with structure. While I don’t think this gets any better, I do think it will cruise for years and evolve in to a somewhat different wine. Thanks again @Bryan Kesting for opening this! — 3 years ago

Shared this at a hotel bar with a friend. Love the label with the birds. Too bad no cardinal on it. My friend has an affinity for that bird. Typical Williamette valley Pinot. We enjoyed it. Much better to drink this than the per glass offerings. — a year ago
