Yolo County Tempranillo 2016

Deep dark, extracted color of night. Smells like cream, berries and rocks. Flavors are excellent. Woodsy, fruit-full, robust. This is a wine that goes great with food. I had strong cheese with crackers. Washed down great. — 3 years ago

Pillars of Hercules Red Blend 2020

54/27/19 blend of petite sirah, petit verdot and teroldego. Dense purple red. Floral, blueberry and blackberry aromas, blackberry jam, and black pepper finish. Some seed tannins, decant. After two hours, skin tannins get grippy, yet varietal flavors remain well expressed; you can taste the petite Sirah and petit Verdot in there, though I really am not familiar with teroldelgo as a varietal. Worth drinking just to see the future of world wines as growers continue to shift to new varieties that grow and express well with global warming — 3 months ago

Yolo County Albariño 2022

Whimsy on the label. Color is great. Sorta glint of gold in the silvery shimmer. Smells of lemon peels and apple-pear juice. Hint like Sauv Blanc. Flavors are balanced and smooth. Slightest of sweet with plenty of Meyer lemon and Oro Blanco grapefruit. Citrus in spades. Tannins are strong and pleasing to finish. This is still a winner. Maybe not as stunning as it was the first couple times I had it, but a perfect wine with white meats (including fish), shoshitos and lighter cheeses. — 8 months ago

Gozar Red Blend

I give this Lovely blend of Tempranillo 39%, petite Syrah 35%, Zinfandel 18%, Cabernet Sauvignon 8% a 90.5 as I am stingy about ratings for promising wines that are good now but could evolve into higher levels of expectancy! Created from grapes in a small town in N Calif honors the heritage of those who starting planting the area with delicious devotion! Full flavor, good structure… it might open more with another year or two of aging… but it’s ready! “Enjoy! / Gozar!” Another Last Bottle steal! Good work team! — 2 years ago

Yolo County Verdejo 2019

Silver & gold color. Nice nose. IPA, citrus and good ciders. Flavors are also apples, hint of tart tropical banana and grilled citrus peels. It’s a lovely, unique well-balanced CA white with pizzazz. — 4 years ago
