Château Smith Haut Lafitte

Pessac-Léognan Blanc White Bordeaux Blend 2006

Modern and new-worldly. Dense, rich, oily and complex. Candied citrus peel, honeysuckle, marmelade and tropical nuances. Drinking at peak now.
Gorgeous wine.

#chardonnay #adelaidehills #australia when I first tasted this wine blind in a lineup of other Chardonnays from around the world it didn’t seem that great but now, Tasting it on its own without comparisons it is quite delicious and very elegant. — 25 days ago

Very nice blend, cab heavy. Needs time to open but then the structure is lively with nice fruit and a good finish. Easy drinking. — 10 days ago

Delectable Wine
9.3

Vivid red. Vibrant red and blue fruit, candied rose and baking spice qualities on the incisive nose, which picks up a hint of smokiness with air. Juicy and penetrating on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry and boysenberry flavors and allspice and cola topnotes. Shows excellent clarity and spicy thrust on the clinging finish, which is framed by smooth, harmonious tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, October 2020) — a month ago

Imperial Stout Beer

Black with burnt umber highlights. Low and creamy head springs with bubbles combining to undercut its great form. Fireworks lacing slow falls to leopard spots. Espresso and baker’s chocolate nose boasts licorice and chicory, campfire notes and vanilla. Palate shows none of the sweet elements of the nose initially. Instead, pipe tobacco and unsweetened bitter chocolate, the chicory and burnt toast prevail; a burnt tips taste lingering. Baked pecan, dark caramel, black pepper, and ethiopean coffee, with black chewing tobacco and vanilla bean complete the circuit. Power and restraint, in this lovely offering. This really did set the standard. #samuelsmiths #samuelsmitholdbrewery #tadcaster #NYorks #imperialstout #stout #englishstout #beer #classicbeer #bier #biere #birra #cerveza #cerveja #britbeer #britannia #ukberr #ukstout #britishbeer #britishstout — a month ago
