Last vin tasted was ‘11 as there were no ‘12 or ‘13. Deep Ruby, blend 70% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano & 10% Mazuelo, aged in new French oak for 15 months (‘11 was 24 mos). Concentrated red fruit aromas with floral, oak & pepper spice. On the palate ripe red fruit flavors, complex with layers fruit & spice, noting espresso, cacao and licorice. Tannins are tight and will soften with time. Well balanced, long finish ending with fruit, spice and oak. Decant now, otherwise let sit in the cellar. Nice! — 23 days ago
Vino Nero D'Avola classico buonissimo — a month ago
Day one was closed even after a decant. So I stoppered it and waited for day 2. Smart move.
Nose is dusty cherry in a good way.
Palate is some of the best cleanest cherry fruit I’ve ever had in a wine. A hint of cherry licorice on the finish. Wow. Such a. Clean well made wine.
Vines are almost 100 years old.
From Emilia Romagna. A bit north of Tuscany so the wines are a bit less fruit Bomby. A bit more elegant. Good producers like these guys and costa archi are worthy seeking out.

Buen vino, suave al paladar, buen sabor, bien cuerpo, buen aroma. — 2 months ago
Very mild, both on the nose and pallet. Low tannins and short finish. Really enjoying this wine! — 14 days ago
Lacking of varietal taste and flavour. Maybe a bit too much of oak. No defects. Sauvignon coming out just at the last in the mouth — 21 days ago
Wow my experience with this is better than many reviewers. Really a classic Rioja in perfect shape. Didn’t finish the bottle and the last glass sat for a week or so after Vacuvin, maybe even better after that. Cherry and sandalwood, just what you’d expect and want. Did this really come from WSJ? May be the only decent bottle in the sample case. — 2 months ago
