Trebulanum Terre del Volturno IGT Casavecchia

Dry. Earthy. Big flavor but not overpowering. Touch of sweetness. Right up my alley.
Lovely birthday vino.

Pirrera Vino di Contrada Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese 2019

Excellent easy drinking wine, looks light but is actually 13.5 degrees. Cherries, a bit astringent, pale. With schrimp diabolo and reblouchon potatoes an excellent wine to cut through the spices/heath and through the butter. Would be excellent with a plate of charcuterie for lunch. — 5 months ago

L'Insieme Vino Rosso da Tavola Red Blend 2001

Nose has warming dark chocolate, garden mud, ripe plum, fresh figs, blackcurrant, menthol, ripe black cherry, eucalyptus, wet cedar plank with fading alcohol note.

Palate has chocolate covered cherry, cedar shavings, leather, dried plum, blackberry, over-ripe plum, warm licorice candy with fine tannins and dry finish that runs over a minute.

Decanted 3H, I suspect this will be a fantastic wine at 24H open.

I beleive the 2001 vintage blend to be 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Barbera, 20% Nebbiolo, 10% Dolcetto, 5% Syrah & 5% Petit Verdot.

A gifted bottle from a dear buddy; this is doing great and likely another 6-10+ years in front. 2028+

Cordone Barolo Nebbiolo

Deep and rich with dark berries and cedar. Not quite the development from decanting that some of the ‘14s had. — 4 months ago

Paesi Tuoi Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

Lovely bouquets of cedar, balsamic and dry mushroom commingle with red cherry, ripe blackberry, peppery spices,, and hint of lilac. The palate is a bit more savory than the nose suggests. Fresh acidity and authoritative grainy tannins.
This shows better than I expected from a coop, thanks to the great 13’ vintage. Have the structure to age for another 5 years at least.
