Yes, this is east coast - not central coast. Stunning build could fool anyone this is not Cali-quality! Form is simple: Malo/Lees = creamy + Rounded edges. But the palate is so synced with the mouthfeel that it is a seamless build. Meyer lemon creme-brûlée set in a floral Ramekin…one of the very best in recent memory for me. Paired with a tarragon butter Red Rainbow Trout (Fresh from Idaho) and family grown sautéed squash & baked potato….winner-winner, PTL!! Well, 3.5 years old, this lush and expressive Viogner is classier than ever! 2013 was a good year for whites, and Nate made his signature varietal sing on pitch! Melons and apricots meld for a juicy sonnet of palate cleansing sweetness. Plenty of acidity here to match the satisfaction of weighty mouthfeel. Just a touch of residual sugar to keep you smiling. Seriously good with food and pleasant as a sipper! Year in and year out, his style with this grape is top shelf. I hope the new wine maker at Sunset Hills will carry on in his tradition :) — 7 years ago

Thank you FrenchieMike at Leesburg vintner for insisting on this one so many years ago. Last bottle and it developed into that beautiful tertiary Rhône (baby Chatinurf) sonnet. Enjoyed with lamb stew! — 4 years ago

Pale pale not quite ripe plum- with whitish fruit. Oak? So very subtle it's hardly if at all registering. Tart apple. A hint of sun on it but only just. Now that it's warming up a bit- some butter is melting. Nothing shouting movie popcorn. Everything about this gem is quiet. Haiku not a sonnet. Bird song not an orchestra. Not for something bold. White peach pit on the nose round and fuzzy mouth feel. Plum. Skin. A hint of grapefruit peel delightful with hearth baked pizza- meatballs, sausage, grilled eggplant is the earthy counterpoint to this summery sonnet. A toast to flowers and a sun warmed meadow. This is a clarinet or possibly a harpsichord but not a fiddle or a flute. — 5 years ago

For all the trouble of 2011, this found its ow.ln story...a light hearted, Italian look-a-like. Really enjoyable as a mid-week sonnet! The cab sauv played nicely with the cf and Malbec. Glad I found it back in the day — 6 years ago
