Metzuda Judean Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2016

This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Judean Hills in Israel. Showing black fruits with oak, vegetables, chocolates, earth, tobacco, light vanilla, cloves, herbs, spices and peppercorn.

Full bodied and big, with medium acidity.

Tangy finish with fine grain tannins and raspberries.
Still young and would be nice to visit it again in a couple of years. Better after a couple of hours in the decanter.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with French brie cheese.

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Syrah. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Kosher.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Loner R12-b John Sebastiano Vineyard Pinot Noir

A magnificent Pinot from the Santa Rita Hills. Matthias casts his magic and the results are phenomenal. I would swear this was a Syrah, but not a drop. A perfect melody of bright berry notes together with deep, dark fruit that’s almost savory. A bargain at any price. @Delectable Wine this is the Backseat Freestyle. — 5 hours ago

Summum Seven Springs Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

Very Raj+Sashi in that this is pure French, summoned from New World. Very Chablis at first. With decanting and temperature White Burg appears. Both with a drop more fruit than their old world counterpoints. Very enjoyable already and I’d venture this will age beautifully for a decade+. — 2 days ago

Domaine Drouhin

Laurène Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017

The weekend is almost over and I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend? Tonight I have opened the 2017 Domaine Drouhin Laurène Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.

On the nose there is beautiful fruit of cherry, raspberry, cranberry, cinnamon, cola, sage, herbs, spice and earth.

On the palate are cherries, raspberries, pomegranate, cinnamon, hibiscus, spice, vanilla and a subtle earth play.

The wine is medium bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and medium + acidity and medium polished fine tannins that leads into a wonderfully long fresh red fruit earthy finish. This is another beautiful pinot noir from Domaine Drouhin in Oregon. Please stay safe and healthy and have a great week ahead. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Domaine Drouhin

Edition Limitée Chardonnay 2012

Beautifully transcendent new world chardonnay, well-integrated oak. Citrus oil, fresh butter, medium finish with complexity. But the heart of this is in the mid-palate which is so eminently charming you just have to smile. — 3 days ago

Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Year in and year out, this is one of my favorite wines from one of my labels. A mild garnet color with thin edges. The exceedingly pleasing nose features notes of green tea, shy red cherries, and fresh herbs. Faded rose petals and raspberry crumble round things out.

I hate to use the term Burgundian to describe domestic Pinots. It’s almost always false and just plain isn’t fair. This definitely deserves the moniker. Silky smooth in the mouth with medium acidity and body. Well integrated tannins and some lively spice add to the prettiness of this.

The combination of rusticity and elegance really takes this to another level. Sly and delicate red fruit shine on the palate while the earthiness takes hold. Moist earth, dried forest, and straight up gravel. Long finish showing more spice and just a little kick of cinnamon. Spectacular stuff that really shows what Oregon Pinot is about.

Estate Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Gris 2018

Produced since 1994 and named for Mt. Jefferson in the Cascade Range that is east of Cristom Vineyards and visible from their tasting room. From a blend of estate vineyard grapes, the wine is Ruby with aromas of red berries, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of fresh strawberry with tea leaves and cola notes, clean and vibrant. Fine soft tannins, long finish, carrying fruit and ending with a soft spice character. Very nice, great value!! — 10 days ago
