The perfect year for California Cabernet , 2014! This is SanAntonio Centennial Red Blend. WOW. I may need a case of this. I would put this up against any 150 to 175 bottle of cab. And guess what? Its half that price. Right from the start you get an amazing distinctive cabernet grape in your mouth. But then there is the malbec and petit verdot and petite sarah kicking in. It also has a syrah grape blended in on the top. I love this wine!!!!!
The bouquet has lots of fresh blueberry pie fresh out of the oven baby! The palate hits very sudden with lots of those big flavorful dark fruits such as blackberry, dark currant, and ripe blueberries. Then comes the pepper and oak. Very Earthy on the mid palate. Hints of mineral rich soil finish it off. The finish is mildly dry and just perfect! Oh my, I need to order more of this before anyone else does. Maybe I should not post this rating... :-) - cheers! — a day ago
Terrific wine from Ryan Pease at Paix sur Terre. Still retaining a lot of fruit and very elegant on the palate, this has really developed nicely over that past few years. Not sure if it’s going to improve much at this point, so my advice is to enjoy this one now. — 3 days ago
Beautifully aromatic with a clean mineral overtone - ripe white peach, lemon, honeydew melon, honeysuckle, tarragon, white pepper, arugula. Palate has loads more honeysuckle and white melon and some chewy, citrus-squeezed greenness that blessedly avoids that cloying bitter herbal note I fear from Rhône whites.
Fresh from the fall mailing. I want this next time for brunch with eggs Florentine. Wouldn’t be surprised if it ages brilliantly.

Absolutely love Paul Lato’s grenaches. Made in a much more feminine style than, say, what John Alban does, this one is probably still a bit too young but was terrific just the same. Delicate yet intense, the bottle was finished before Vanessa and I realized it (always a sign that we love a wine!). I’d give it 2-3 more years in the cellar...but it’s pretty hard to resist right now! — 11 hours ago
This is tasty and paired well with the strawberry arugula salads with grilled salmon - this 100% chard with vanilla honey melon and spices - strange thing is this a Paso Robles chard but has hints of being a sauv blanc - update - the 19 is a chard but the 17 is a white Rhône blend but a mystery blend — a day ago
A GSM blend from Cris Cherry at Villa Creek, this is what I would call one of his entry-level wines. Doesn’t possess the depth or complexity of some of his other cuvees like High Road or Avenger, but is still really enjoyable and a great value. — 11 days ago
I thought I would do something fun this Halloween season and post some “creepy” wines and pair them with some fun cheese. This is a nice blend from Paso Robles, medium body, dark garnet in color. Very tannic with notes of rhubarb and raspberry. I wish I could eat this cheese by the mouthful. It’s a Wensleydale cheese from the UK with strawberry and Prosecco. So sweet, it really offsets the tannins in the wine. 💀🍷🧀 — 5 days ago
Drinking absolutely perfectly right now. Had a tasting with Eric a few years back who said he prefers his wines within the first few years, but I have to say that virtually every Booker wine I’ve had (save for the whites and roses) have improved substantially with a few more years in the cellar. We last had this in 2015, and it is substantially better now. At this stage I don’t think it’s going to improve much going forward, but it is terrific right now (so drink ‘em if ya got ‘em!). — 14 days ago
