Thompson Creek Cider

Creekside Dry Blend Apple Outlaw

Bottled 2016, contains heirloom varieties from their own orchard in Applegate, Oregon: Arkansas Black, Blenheim Red, Macintosh and Rome Beauty. Very clear, yellow brown color, light to moderate carbonation, rapidly collapsing head. Very good mix of flavors; their label claims a profile of “apricot, honeydew, tropical fruit and green apple”. I would back the first three claims. Crisp and dry, as advertised. A touch too much wood for my taste, but otherwise well crafted with an excellent array of fruit. No bitterness and minimal astringency. Good value — 4 months ago

Hartless Ciders Golden delicious counoise

This is for the AmByth Hartless Ciders 2017 Golden delicious counoise. I wish I could have tried this blind. If this had been poured at Terroir, punchdown, or ordinaries as a natty counoise I’m not sure I would have ever guessed it’s a cider. Fascinating! Tons of tannin and ripe cherry, insane amount of funk throughout. Forest, ocean, farm, and orchard all slammed together yet it totally works. Must try for anyone that enjoys cider and wine. — 8 months ago

Number 12 Cider House

Minnesota Sparkling Dry Cider

Amazing with ribs with Jones Bar-B-Q Coconut and Pineapple sauce. Founded in 2011 – tasting room at the Deer Lake Orchard in Buffalo, MN. Combines 5 local apple varieties with toasted French Oak. A favorite, made with the U of M’s 1946 star Chestnut Crabapple. Terrifically complex – offering scents as diverse as seawater, roses, and vanilla ice cream; leading to a dry finish. Hints of orchard honey and crisp apple come alive against a light sparkle and subtle tannings. 2016 Bronze Medal, Beverage Testing Institute’s World Cider Championships. This cider is approachable, balanced and delicious. — 5 months ago

Little Apples 2016

This is a gorgeous cider. Nose is apple orchard, citrus, and ocean. Palate is super complex with citrus, citrus rind, tons of apple, yet nice acidity with a great earthiness. Yet the finish lingers with lemon curd and a ripe apple. — 7 months ago
