Reminds me of a wine from the winery from our honeymoon.

A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Malbec, and 20% Merlot that spent nine-and-a-half years in old casks, this wine has already developed an attractive bouquet of undergrowth, dried red fruit, herbs, potpourri, olives and truffle plus a hint of coconut. Gentle on the palate, it is well-integrated and full of flavor. The fine tannins make for a silky passage, leading to a lengthy, bouquet-driven finish. An unusual wine. Fun to say about a nine year old wine, but this Rioja needs to be decanted. It was thin fruit juice with little bite in the finish upon first sip. Once it aired out, though, the wine came alive. Dark cherry, stewed strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry jam, black tea, American oak, cinnamon, clove, and a hint of black and white pepper on the palate. Medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, and high acid. Smooth and powerful from start to finish. An example of how masculine a Rioja can present without the need to amp it up with alcohol. — a month ago
This is a delicious nine-year-old Rioja. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with wood, licorice, vanilla, earth, coffee, light vinaigrette, black tea, peppercorn, wet leaves, spices and light herbs.
Full bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity.
Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries.
Needs a couple of hours of airtime to open up properly. Still young and will be better in the next 5 to 10 years.
Rich and engaging. Spicy and tasty.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers. Great with the brie cheese.
A blend of 88% Tempranillo and 12% Graciano. Aged for 26 months in French Oak barrels.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Anniversary gift... Cassis and berries, not overly tannic, a bit of smoky spiciness. Dark purple color, and bits of solids in the bottom of the glass. — 2 months ago
Carneros. Classic expression even young. Dark red cherry hits you immediately on the nose and then you’re transported. — 6 days ago
Blend of Viura, Albillo Mayor, Alarije (Malvasía Riojana), Jaen, Palomino and even Chasselas
doré from odd vines interplanted within Sabinares’ old vineyards’ predominant red varieties. Fermented in stainless steel, oak and concrete tanks, and aged with lees for nine months. Elegant and complex, with nuanced aromas of nuts, yellow fruit, quince and pollen and extraordinary acidity — a month ago
