Black fruits, earthy, herbs and some tobacco full-bodied and absolutely irresistible in the nose. Followed by a cool, well balanced structure on the palate with fine tanins, light as feather. Wood elves would love it. — 2 years ago
Forget Musk vs Zuck , this was a real battle of the heavyweights. A friend , “So what do you think?” Me , “Go away”. I honestly did not want to be distracted. I just wanted to take in what was in my glass. Lots of everything , fruit , acid , structure but what allows it to be monumental is the balance. So many layers to peel and each one loaded with complexity. — 8 months ago
This didn’t captivate the audience quite like the same producer’s and vintage’s Pettenthal TBA a few years ago, but it was still a privilege to drink. I always feel so lucky to be able to taste wines like this - a pristine snapshot of history straight from the source, moving only once since it’s birth nearly nine decades ago (from the cellars of Franz Karl Schmitt to KP’s). The distillation of time revealed the inherently regal quality of Nierstein, even coming from the supposedly lower quality foothills of the red slopes. The wine was almost entirely dry, with remarkable flavours of cherry liqueur, warm earth, caramel, coffee, and bitter almonds; but perhaps the most astounding element was its textural quality - akin to a great aged red, with tannic grip and a weighty body. A little more acidity would have taken this up a notch, but that’s nitpicking for a wine this old. Overall, this was quite the night cap courtesy of KP. Danke! — 2 years ago
The most open of the Keller Kabi-kiste wines. Just all fruity and floral from the get-go - Citrus, stone fruits, rose water, and anise! It’s really the fruitiest of the lot, showing even hints of candied elements, but all framed in a weightless playful package. Truly intensity without weight. — 2 years ago

Palate closed out of the gates but has the guts I remember. Length. Really long. Acid and finesse. Even closed this a 9.4. Let’s see where it goes. Nose gets a fresh honey note and intense minerality and an airiness. Palate is just explosive with honeyed minerals and crazy high acidity and intensity but gets all finesse on the mid and finish. Wow. — 5 months ago
