Rosé and comfort food - heck yes! Growing up my mum made ‘sausage swirls’ which are pastry, sausage, potato and cheese swirls. And now they’re my go-to comfort food - however I add a jar of jalapeños 🌶 for a bit of a kick 🙌
I thought they’d be a great match to this bottle of Lansdowne 2019 Pinot Rosé which we were sent as a sample from Good Pair Days (thanks guys!).
Only a small quantity of this wine was made (177 cases in fact) due to extreme weather conditions that year.
If you want to give it a whirl, and/or try out the Good Pair Days experience, make sure to add the code “travellingcorkscrew” for a discount at the checkout 😉
I felt like I was watching the sunset 🌅 as the red-y orange like liquid was poured into my glass. On the nose it had me thinking about wild strawberries 🍓, tangerine and pink grapefruit. While in the mouth it’s smooth and hella delicious. Refreshing, comforting and bloody yum.
This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it. By using the above promo code I will receive a small amount of commission.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

A museum release from the winery - I bought this at a Shaw and Smith tasting in Brisbane a few years ago. An asparagus note initially which blew off. Asian spices, raspberry, earthy mineral notes on nose, carrying through to the medium to full bodied palate. A nice balance between cool climate and warm climate characteristics. Finishes with a little astringency. — 22 days ago
Opened it a bit too early. Still has many years until it reaches its peak. Lovely full bodied, deep rich color. Tobacco, leather, peppermint and licorice and spices. — 16 days ago
Quite dense crimson in colour for its age. Notes of Menthol/Eucalyptus and aniseed typical of Wendouree. A full bodied palate- earthy, berry, mineral with a tarry note. Might be a 19 year old wine but there is so much latent energy and power it will go on for some years yet. I will drink my last one in 2 to 3 years and if I have the willpower should be 4 to 5 years. Will go the distance. — 15 days ago
Smokey cherry fragrance and taste. Can be a bit intense at first but smooth finish. September 2020. — 7 days ago
Heavy bodied strong cabaret with strong flavors. Light acidity medium tannin taste and great with strong tomato pastas. — 14 days ago
