Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, raspberry, florals, oak, vanilla and leather. On the palate, spices, dark fruits, cherry and plum, rich and medium- full bodied. Medium finish with rich chocolatety tannins but still very present acidity that finishes with an interesting citrus note, like a tart orange. — 3 years ago
La masía translates as "the farmhouse," which Marimar Estate was designed to resemble. Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, dried herbs and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with toasty notes and herb cinnamon spice. Full-bodied, fine soft textured tannins, long finish ending with juicy fruit and spicy herb character. Oct. 2023. NV. Purchased at auction 7 years ago. Sweet, viscuous, sherry-like elixir. Green notes have been absorbed. Delicious. Moderate 16% alc. — 6 months ago
2023/3/23 with pan fried cod, puréed potatoes with lait ribot and fines herbes, etc. This was definitely more advanced than the platonic ideal for its age, but I can enjoy these wines if they’re not too extreme - nuts, cream and all that — a year ago
