Maison Roche De Bellene

Domaine Hubert Lignier

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1996

Not bad but paled vs the 96 Rousseau Chambertin. A little match stick in the nose, disjointed. Beefy and young still but not fun at the moment. — 8 days ago

Probably should have let this age for another year or two, and should have let it aerate. A bit thin with no real standout notes / flavours. — 4 months ago

Father's day. Same as previous btl: the reason I waste my time chasing Burgundy. — 6 months ago

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2007

Pnp perfection with a captivating and explosive layered bouquet of candied red cherries, rose petals, coffee beans and exotic spices. The palate is luxuriously silky with obvious grand cru weight and intensity and there is stunning purity and elegance to balance such power and exhilarating energy. An incredible combination. Its spice and mineral laced finale just keeps on going. One of the best CDLR’s in the biz was perfect tonight. — 2 months ago

Domaine Dujac

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2009

I will start with I was impatient and didn’t decant and consumed within 2 hours. So I didn’t really give this a fair chance to broaden. It was nonetheless very enjoyable but definitely muted. Lots of earth and depth. Fruit is buried but perhaps if I had been more accommodating it would have emerged more boldly. Solid old world PN. — 3 months ago

Sous la Roche Givry Pinot Noir 2005

Deep redfuits and earthy notes, still somewhat structured and youthful, needs more time, solid finish, very good! — 6 months ago
