2017. 9.0-9.1. Quintarelli’s entry-level non-ripasso wine. Explosion of strawberry and cherry fruit but not much backbone or complexity to balance it out. Maybe picks up some tertiary flavors over time but I’d rather pay the extra $30 for Q’s truly special Ca Del Merlo. $50. — 22 days ago
A very nice Valpolicella. You notice the smooth, silky notes up front. Deep currant, floral elements. So rich, you barely notice the high alcohol content. Classic Quintarelli quality. I still enjoy the Rosso Ca del Merlo for a similar price point. — 2 months ago
2012. 9.5. Outstanding: a mouthful of ripe red and blue fruits, tar, licorice and other earthy funk. So smooth and complex, evolves every hour. I slightly prefer the 2011 Ca del Merlo as the CdM is a bit longer and structured but both are classics. $79 at Plucky, Bottle King. — 3 months ago

Same notes as before, and I still love it. Keep going back to it. So unique.
