Wonderful. Drinking on a special occasion on New Year’s Day. You can taste the smooth old vines and primo Pinot. — 5 years ago
Second time trying this. Wow! For a young Pinot, it’s smooth and full of flavor. When you taste it you understand the higher price. It’s more fully bodied than many Pinots and works quite well with food. 😋 — 6 years ago
Somewhat disappointing Sancerre, slightly flat. On sale for $22.79, regularly $25.29. — 4 years ago
Elegant aroma, fruits and herb. Taste is powerful, strawberry and other red fruits flavor. More 5 years should make it better. Jean-Philippe Marchand Vieilles Vignes Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Les Blanchards 2012 @, 302, 210416 — 5 years ago
Simply delicious. — 6 years ago
That's a fun Bourgogne côte de beaune ! Vanilla, a toasty thing, cherry and hay. The palate is made of a huge acid drive, a persistent vanilla note, a bright cherry push all over the place. A good width, a nice a'd soft mouthfeel with caressing tannins in mid palate, a long finish with fruit, vanilla and a slightly drying tannic effect. This is textbook classic lovely burgundy Pinot and it's so good! — 5 years ago
#viellesvignes #bourgognerouge Scored this bottle at a Houston restaurant at a decent retail price. Case labeling suggests Gevrey-Chambertin but the grapes are clearly classified only as Burgundy red - nevertheless a delicious Pinot Noir - cherry pie filling, raspberry preserves and baking spice, cinnamon aromas. Taste rolls into rich red fruit, some GC power and moderate tension rolling into robust tannins on a long finish. Pairing with moderately spicy Moroccan Tagine-style chicken thighs with Israeli couscous was as magnificent as you can imagine - cinnamon and baking spice throughout. — 5 years ago
Smooth grand cru Pinot. Wonderful balance. A wonderful addition to our dinner. 😎 — 6 years ago

A bright medium ruby color and an elegant, red-fruited profile. On the nose, it opens with fresh cherry, raspberry, and red currant, layered with subtle rose petal and a touch of forest floor and wet stone. The palate is refined rather than powerful, carrying through with cranberry and cherry notes supported by lively acidity and silky, fine tannins. There’s a gentle earthy undertone and a hint of white pepper or baking spice that adds complexity without weight. The finish is clean and medium in length, lingering on fresh red fruit and mineral tones, making it balanced, food-friendly, and distinctly Old World in style rather than bold or extracted. — 2 months ago
