Cuvée Jadis Extra Brut Premier Cru Champagne Blend 2008

Thanksgiving 2020; a quiet day with just my wife and the kitties, hopefully 2021 brings family and dear friends back for group enjoyment of this Holiday.

Nose has effervescent limestone water, crusty sourdough bread, excessively zested lemon and lemon creme pie.

Palate has saline lemon juice, lemon slice + peel, an amazing level of acidity but equally balanced; what a finish, Wow!

No new words to describe how much we lo♥️ve this bottle tonight. All I can say is we're starting to get low on our stash, thankfully a restocking is in my future already... — a month ago

Yes I know! Kind of hoping I ordered a few cases too many from @Lyle Fass so that I can enjoy the excess for years!

C. de Réserve Brut 1er Cru Champagne Blend

Green Apple, lots of citrus acidity, fresh zesty fruits and more minerals than the Caillez Lemaire Eclats tasted alongside. Some rubber band and seashells. Fresher, but a touch unresolved by comparison. On the whole a real favorite and a great value. — 3 months ago

Altenberg de Bergheim Alsace grand cru Gewürztraminer 2015

Yeah, what a wine. Full ripe tropical fruits, creamy vanilla with a light hint of caramel sweetness. Orange zest bitters. Quite sweet but just enough citrus sour to prevent it from becoming too thick. Mached excellent with the spicy lintal coconut dal for diner. But standalone it is even better. — 2 days ago

Eclats Brut Nature Champagne Blend

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Solid producer, no new notes:
Nose has sliced brioche, cut red apple, bruised pear, warm caramel candy and wet limestone.
Palate has quince jam on faintly buttered brioche, bruised yellow apple, dried bread dough with a lingering touch of acidity/minerals with a long finish. Best as it warms and gains more exposure to air.

Went to a wedding many years ago in Rangeley. It’s beautiful. Another thing I remember is it takes longer to get there than you’d expect!

@Tom Casagrande Yes, not a quick hop from the Berkshires, but I'm good with that as one we arrive it's nothing but peace and quiet.

Awesome nose. Toasty, brioche, spices. So deep. So clean. Smells like a stream. Some peach skin. So much complexity and breadth. Mindblowing nose. So juicy and filled with citrus fruits and lovely breadiness. So pure and tangy. Sappy as all can be on the finish. And that finish. Whoahhhh boy. It is long. — 3 months ago

Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Solid producer, no new notes:
Nose has wet strawberry, orange peel, ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and light, fresh brioche notes.
Palate has strawberry-raspberry mash (light), orange/grapefruit pith, ripe peach (light) and wonderful limestone backbone.

Where’s your winter cabin?

We overwinter in our house in MA. We can't get into the ME cabin in the winter, unless the logging roads we access our property somehow get plowed, too much snow generally.
