The Fugitive

The Fugitive Dry Creek Valley Red Blend 2016

Dark reddish purple. Inviting, New World nose and smooth medium full palate of black plum, blueberry, blackberry and a hint of vanilla. Medium acidity and medium minus tannins. A tasty NW Zin-based blend that’s ready for dinner or the cookout. Drink now. — 2 days ago

Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2015

This is a really good Pinot Noir: ready to pop on pour and the age on the bottle is quite perfect. Nice burgundy color with medium plus density (not so translucent). On the nose there are immediate scents of cherry and damp forest. The mouthfeel is delicately elegant with soft cherry, light tartness, and clean wet earthy savoriness. Medium plus body, medium acidity, very smooth with round tannings, and a long finish. — 19 hours ago

Ritchie Vineyard CHARDONNAY 2019

Rubia Wine Cellars Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 2019 Russian River Valley, California

Light golden in color.

On the nose citrus, yellow apples, lemons, light oak and vanilla, spices and white pepper.

Full bodied, smooth and lightly creamy, with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with apples, melons, pears, spices, light oak, vanilla, earth, light herbs and white pepper.

Nice length on the finish with spices and light almonds.

This is a delicious Chardonnay from Russian River Valley. Well-balanced with a great mouth feel. Elegant and rich.

Good by itself right out of the bottle, and better when not too cold, when the complexity shows up.

The light oak notes are very intertwined and give a luxury feel to the wine.

A good quality wine that would be nice to revisit in 3 years.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

100% Chardonnay grapes were barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 16 months on lees. A very small production of only 6 barrels were made.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

Jones Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2010

Always a favorite!

1hr+ decant. Definitely needs a decant! Dark red color with purple rims. Wine is dominated by vanilla, watermelon, and candied fruit. Medium depth. I actually thought it had some Pinot elements. Reminded me of the Chateau Philippe Le Hardi Montee Rouge which I love. This definitely was like candy and my first review of this wine. Last bottle of this vintage :(

Teldeschi Vineyard Home Ranch Petite Sirah 2017

This is great. Huge fruit, jam with tannin, some dirt in a great way, there’s a nice vegetable/herbal component that is wonderful. Overall restrained in a huge way if that makes sense. Well done! Also better on night 2. — 11 days ago

Dry Stack Vineyard White Blend 2016

Barrel aged California Sauv Blanc. In its youth this shows a pineapple/tropical note. I was hoping for it and pleased to find it’s still there at ~5 years age. — 12 days ago
