The nose on this wine was worth a 9.2 alone. I could have sat in the corner huffing the wine for the entire night. Dried cherries, pipe tobacco and earth. One of those noses where you feel like you're transported back to the Chateau and are right in the middle of the vineyard. Wine poured a darker maroon, full to the meniscus. The entry of this wine was rather dense. Middle went to a brambled type of presentation, tar, earth, but still retaining that ever copious cherry. Finish was quite impressive. I will say that this one tasted like it was 5 to 10 years old and could last another 20 years or so. Incredible wine.

It was a good night and definitely jealous of that Cheval vert! That Bara drank rather well and even better than I had remembered. We were definitely there in spirit. Cheers @Martin G Rivard !

St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
I'd put this 2007 against a Rudius or Paul Hobbs any day. I understand your rating system and this is a 97 point wine. Beautiful, silky tannins and loads of the dark fruit we love from Napa. Nicely extracted and a big red wine. Needed 30 minutes to show its the real deal. Call Lisa Redmon to see if she has a few more bottles. One of the greatest wines I’ve had the privilege of tasting. Cab franc is a favorite of mine and to enjoy a top shelf to CF in the world is a treat...not much green pepper, more beef jerky and soy sauce than vegetal notes. Powerful even after hours of being open. Worthy of smelling for days (violet, dusted blackberries). What a pull from @Mark Flesher !
