HAPPY Thanksgiving! A Burgundy Thanksgiving part 1. Oysters overnight from Hog Island Oysters!
Double decant and pour. A irresistible pale straw color. On the nose: lemon, floral, toasted almonds, pear, vanilla. Taste: A rich, creamy, big wine with citrus, minerals, spicy oak, crushed stone, and a long honey peach dry finish. Great start. Cheers! — 4 days ago
Lovely redfruit aromas and flavors, still quite youthful and structured, great balance, just a tad of lovely earthy notes, very long finish, this really has many years left, even at age 30, why we all aspire to drink Burgundy as much as we can!! Paired with duck breasts and wild rice!! — 4 days ago
Thanksgiving 2020; a quiet day with just my wife and the kitties, hopefully 2021 brings family and dear friends back for group enjoyment of this Holiday.
Nose has mashed cherries, moist garden soil, red raspberry smeared on old leather, blackcurrant, currant leaves, ripe plum and old tobacco.
Palate has black cherry, plum, cedar box, under-ripe blackberry, under-ripe blackcurrant, dry soil with iron, dried cherry but still with solid tannins. Medium acidity with a long finish.
Likely the best bottle of Domaine Camus Père & Fils we've had, in stellar shape with at least a solid decade in front of it, wow! — 4 days ago
Nice acidity with some width to it and a little bit of richness, a delicious finish on pears mostly. Good bottle but lacks the zip of the best Perrières.
Beau vin sans être dans la même classe que les meilleurs Perrières, belle acidité et une bouche assez ample avec un peu de richesse, belle finale sur les poires. 90-91 — 3 days ago
Chablisien profile but very rich.
Nose is rich. Almost buttery. Not oaky. Perfumed though in a lovely way. Really pretty.
Palate has green apple. But almost like it’s baked. Some minerality. But not a screamer. Really delicious. Rich on the palate.
A very enjoyable wine if a bit atypical.
As this opens its spectacular. I shouldnt really go crazy on it bc the vintage is so reviled. But it’s amazing. Rich yet elegant. Aromatic. Complex. Wow.

A nice bottle with lots of freshness and nice acidity after an early nice roundness and a slight richness to it, a finish that is delicious in yellow orchard fruit, without being on the exotic side too much. Very nice Savigny Villages. 90-91
Un beau blanc tout en fraîcheur avec une tension appuyée après une attaque ayant une belle rondeur et une certaine richesse mais sans excès, avec une belle finale sur des fruits jaunes, sans être exotique. Pas le plus complexe mais savoureux. — 8 days ago
This 1er Cru is bottled on the property, which was founded in 1870. Pale lemon with fresh fruit aromas of stone and citrus fruits with wafts of mineral notes, aged for 12 months on oak. On the palate flavors of clean apple and pear, nice acidity, good balance on long finish ending with rich bright mineral character. Nice! — 3 days ago
The 2009 Extra-Brut Aÿ Vauzelle Terme, 100% Pinot Noir from a south-facing slope, is surprisingly ethereal in its first impression, before the natural power of the vintage makes itself felt. Mirabelle, crushed flowers, spice, mint and sweet dried cherry add pretty shades of nuance. The personality of Pinot from Aÿ comes through loud and clear. Disgorged May 2019 and bottled with no dosage. (Originally published in August 2020) (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2020) — 10 days ago
