Beautiful.

St. Agrestis

Spritz

St. Agrestis Paradiso Apertivo Liqueur and Sparkling White Wine. I poured into a glass of ice. I added lemon juice and La Croix and made a sort of Campari and soda. Refreshing for a warm summer day. — 4 months ago

Château Canon

Croix Canon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

Deep garnet color. Aroma includes oak and rich leather flavor. Enough concentration, but with elegancy. Smooth and gentle. Black fruits like black berry. Taste doesn’t include much leather flavor, so it doesn’t choose a specific drinker. A bit spicy. Canon second 8 years would be a reason for this taste. One hour, much powerful. Day 2 taste is much better!!! Aroma is quite gentle, taste is much smooth, well balanced with a bit spicy coffee flavor. It means it is better to decant it for enough hot. 2012 @2100, tatong - XH, 201002-201010 — a month ago

Château Croix de la Nauve

Saint Emilion Red Bordeaux Blend 1982

Château Croix de la Nauve Saint Emilion 1982, Bordeaux, France

Time for
#MerlotThursday. Here is a gorgeous one from Bordeaux.

Dark brown in color with a wide copper rim.

Nose of cherries, blueberries, wood, licorice, spices, dark coffee, green tea, light barnyard, black pepper and tobacco.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, cherries, plums, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, earth, wet leaves, leather, light vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, black tea, dark coffee and black pepper.

Medium finish with no tannins and cherries.

This Saint Emilion from a the great 1982 vintage is drinking very nicely now. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel. Smooth, soft and elegant.

Not very earthy, which surprised me, and easy drinking. Simpler on the nose than on the palate, and still holds lots of fruits.

Good right out of the bottle and didn't need much to open up.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

91 points.

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

This was all about plummy fruit & chocolate. Rich & full bodied that will only get better with more time in the cellar. — a month ago

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Croix de Beaucaillou Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1997

I know 97 doesn’t get much respect but this was very nice: red fruited, tobacco, spice, fully mature. JB noted the finish was clipped and I agree. Still way overperformed expectations. — 5 months ago
