Costers del Priorat

Pissarres Priorat Samsó Garnatxa 2017

Medium ruby; medium intensity aromas of dark fruit, blackberry, black plum, black cherry, vinyl, underbrush, cedar, baking spices; dry, medium plus acid, medium ripe tannins, high alcohol, full body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, very well balanced and well integrated, a big wine but not overwhelming — 11 days ago

Terroir al Límit

Les Manyes Priorat Garnatxa Negra 2014

Fucking glorious Garnacha. Sous bois, turned earth, wet leaves, cinnamon, ground cloves, pepper, allspice, tar, crushed black plum and cherry fruit, almost dried tones mixed in, burnt earth, dried herbs, wilted flowers. Nose is subtle, but definition is there. Plate is a kaleidoscope of dark spices, savory earth, and gorgeous muddled fruit. Exotic, alluring in every sense, structured w/ powerful tannin almost reminiscent of Nebbiolo. A captivating wine in terms of texture and elegance. — 10 hours ago

Reserva Sabaté i Coca Corpinnat Brut White Blend 2017

This sparkler carries the new Corpinnat designation, meaning it's no longer Cava. Pale lemon with citrus and stone fruit aromas with biscuit notes and good bubble flow. Clean fresh palate of apple and pear with lime citrus zest flavors. Medium+ finish ending with wet stone minerality and citrus character. A nice alternative to a French Champagn. — 20 days ago

Camins del Priorat Grenache Blend 2019

Paired with an honest BBQ w Kansas City style ribs & old college friends. Have had this over the years & while it’s a high ABV wine it carries itself more like a compact Bordeaux. Not oak monster rich, in balance. — 8 days ago

Clos Lentiscus

Litrona Sumoll 2018

Clos Lentiscus - a bit stinky, maybe some mouse? Didn’t detract from an airy, lightening mouthfeel. Red berry dominates with lime, balanced woody stem and tobacco notes. A little smoky. Reminiscent of Lambrusco. Rides the border between fun and serious, yum! — 15 days ago

I love #garnacha and this is a splendid one. Slightly overpriced, but doesn’t disappoint #priorato #priorat #spain — 6 days ago

Conca de Barberà Pinot Noir 2016

Interesting #pinotnoir from #concadebarbera I have friends (Vega Aixalà) with insane high altitude, mountain slope slate vineyards of Pinot Noir from Conca and it’s pretty good. I imagine that these grapes must come from the higher elevation vineyards in Conca. Conca is really large and actually there are so many different climats, it should be split up into different areas. — 6 days ago
